New Website…

I’ve not dropped of the end of the earth… Or got lost running on the North York Moors (well I did get lost, but I found my van eventually, that’s another story). I have been busy working on a new website for my blog, and I’ve finally finished moving my content from here to the new site…There is still some work to be done… but I wanted to invite you all across so you could see the new site, and update your bookmarks and RSS feeds, there is some new content there, and plenty more in the pipeline…

Friday Stoke: The Beauty of the Irrational

Follow Ryan Sandes as he completes the Fish River Canyon trail, which normally takes 5 days in under 7 hours… Passing zebras, and stunning landscape… Running based on an impulse or a feeling, leading to those perfect moments when it feels great to be alive.

“I don’t have reasons, I just want to do it.” – Ryan Sandes

Friday Stoke: Silence

Why do we run…? Why do we dream of escaping the office for the hills…? If you’ve ever asked either of these questions, this is a film for you. If you are sat at your desk every Monday morning, dreaming of mountain vista’s, this may be you…

Strathpuffer Video

Back in January I took part in the Strathpuffer 24 Hour Mountain Bike Race in the Highlands of Scotland. Whilst competing I was filmed for a short documentary film about the race. Which you can now see here…

As you can see, I was rather muddy by the end of the race…

You can also watch more from the Strathpuffer on Episode 6 of The Adventure Show which is currently available on the iPlayer.

Friday Stoke: Sarah Ridgway – Mountain runner

Sarah Ridgway is a mountain runner lucky enough to live in Snowdonia, Wales where she works as a fell running guide through Run Snowdonia. She also writes a inspirational blog, littered with stunning photographs, which give you a reason to get outside and get the miles in.

She has just released a beautifully shot mini film, which is well worth a watch, filmed entirely in Wales, it contains stunning views, no punches and a cool dog. After watching it, you will want to pull on your shoes.

Friday Stoke: I Believe I can Fly…

I’m heading to Kendal Mountain Festival in a few weeks, so working out what I want to go and see… I’ve just found this amongst the listings… Possibly one I would have passed over, but not now I have watched it! I can honestly say my heart was in my mouth! It is stunningly insane, and I can’t wait to see the feature length on the big screen! Gut wrenching, heart stopping, addicted madness, in over words amazing! Watch it full screen, but hold on tight…

Legs Of Steel – Nothing Else Matters

I got sent the link to a rather sick ski film yesterday, Legs of Steel – Nothing Else Matters, best of all it’s all free… not just the trailer, the whole film….

The opening sequence had the hairs on the back of my neck on end. I’m a qualified ski tech, and have worked in the UK and the Alps, and nothing beats opening a box of new skis and bindings and drilling them up…. I miss it… If you know of any ski tech jobs going… let me know…

The film goes on from there to provide equal douses of powder, urban and park, well maybe more powder… but then there always needs to be more powder in a film… it’s what it’s about right? Some sick crashes, an avalanche scene and more…

Sit back, crank up the speakers, full frame it and enjoy…
